Cruise LA and Fuck Yeah Podcast come together to highlight the queer sex workers’ rights movement with a live panel discussion and podcast recording.
The event will begin with a discussion on sex worker organizing tactics, contributions, and solidarity with the queer rights movement over the last forty years. Sarah Tomchesson and Robin Jennings, hosts of Fuck Yeah Podcast, are joined in conversation by a diverse panel exploring the history of queer sex worker activism and first-hand accounts of the fight for liberation. The discussion will be 40 minutes, with 20 minutes for audience Q&A. Fuck Yeah Podcast will release the discussion as a podcast recording following the event.
Cruise LA then provides a social space and resource fair, by and for the queer sex worker community, with queer sex worker DJs, gogo dancers, kink demos, and visuals curated by Failed Films Fest. Connect with resources from the LA LGBT Center’s Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP) and Sex Workers Outreach Project Los Angeles (SWOPLA) or enjoy photos of influential queer sex worker activists and rabble-rousers, displayed with QR codes linking information about each person’s contribution to our collective liberation.
The panel conversation will take place at Eagle LA on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 4-5:30 p.m. The resource fair and afterparty will run until 9 p.m.
Attendees must be 21+ to enter.
This program is organized by Cruise LA and Fuck Yeah Podcast as part of the Circa: Queer Histories Festival 2024, presented by One Institute.
