We don’t always get the families that we need to become our true selves. We can, however, create the family we want on our way to becoming our authentic selves. Using the art form of collage, this workshop will assist participants in designing a new queer narrative, a new queer family tree.
“Creating A Queer Chosen Family” is an empowering workshop led by artist Dawn-Moreno Freedman, focusing on crafting a personal queer narrative through art. Attendees will engage in creative collage-making that represents their ideal chosen family and reflects the traits, qualities, and values they wish to embody. Held in a safe and joyful environment, attendees will have the opportunity to share their creations with the group, fostering a sense of community and personal growth.
This workshop will take place at One Gallery in West Hollywood on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1-2:30 p.m.
This program is not suitable for all ages.
This workshop is organized by Dawn Moreno-Freedman as part of Circa: Queer Histories Festival 2024, presented by One Institute.
